At what rate do kittens develop?

When a kitten is born it is both deaf and blind, but they have a strong sense of smell. They are also very sensitive to touch and soon after birth will start to root round looking for a nipple. An average birth weight is 3ozs and 5 inches long (dependent upon breed) after a few days they start to do the paddling action to stimulate the mothers milk flow.
